Correction and Update Policy

Tahaqaq is committed to a transparent and open correction policy. This involves correcting errors or updating reports by adding or removing details, with clear indications to the audience. Tahaqaq also commits to explicitly apologizing to the audience when mistakes occur, honestly explaining the circumstances that led to the error.

The correction policy based on the principles and fundamental standards of the Arab Fact-Checkers Network (AFCN), which include:

– Tahaqaq commits to correcting errors and publishing corrections in accordance with its announced correction policy.

– If the mistake is substantial, meaning it fundamentally changes the verification conclusions or represents a clear departure from the work methodology, the observatory commits to including the verified correct information along with an explanation of the circumstances that led to the error. The correction will then be published in the same place where the error occurred.

– Tahaqaq commits to acknowledging any new information added after publication in an update note within the same post.

– Regarding typographical, grammatical, and spelling errors, and other minor mistakes that do not affect the substance of the material, these are corrected without a note of correction.
