Western activists and users on social media platforms have been circulating a design that combines two images

The claim
Fake Palestinian propaganda as always.. The second picture is from on of the African countries. You can clearly see the African people burying their people.

The first, in color, documents the burial of several bodies in a mass grave, while the second, in black and white, shows an image of a mass grave labeled “Jewish Holocaust.” They claim that the colored image is from Africa in 1945, suggesting the falsity of the Palestinian narrative.

The Palestinian Observatory “Tahaqaq” has investigated the origin of the image attached to the claim. Through research into public sources, it was found that the image is new, posted on 22/11/2023, and is related to a mass grave established to bury 110 martyrs in the Khan Yunis area, south of the Gaza Strip. These individuals were detained by Israeli occupation forces from various areas in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, notably the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, before being handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross and buried in the “Austrian” area in the city of Khan Yunis.

Journalist Wael Al Dahdouh published a selfie video on his Instagram page on 22/11/2023, featuring scenes from the burial of martyrs in a mass grave. He spoke about the burial conditions, and the image was extracted from the video he posted. Later, the channel broadcast a report by Al Dahdouh explaining the details of the mass grave.

Another video from the documentation of the Palestinian news agency “Wafa” showed the moment of burying the martyrs’ bodies in the mass grave. It confirmed that the grave is located in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip. This was also confirmed by a photo published by the Associated Press, taken by its photographer in Gaza, Mohammed Dahman. The agency clarified that the image was captured on November 22, 2023, showing a mass grave established in the town of Khan Yunis to bury the bodies of martyrs who died in Israeli airstrikes and were brought from Al-Shifa Medical Complex.

It is worth mentioning that Israeli occupation forces had previously abducted several bodies of martyrs during their siege and intrusion into the Al-Shifa Medical Complex. They also seized bodies from the vicinity of the Indonesian hospital and the corridor designated for the evacuation of civilians from the northern part of the Gaza Strip, detaining them for several days before the bodies were handed over, following coordination by the International Committee of the Red Cross, and subsequently buried.

The result
The image is from Gaza, documented on 22/11/2023, depicting a mass grave established in Khan Yunis to bury martyrs abducted by the occupation from northern Gaza. This is corroborated by other photos and videos documented by journalists in Gaza, including Al Jazeera correspondent Wael AL Dahdouh, and the Palestinian news agency “Wafa.
