The video that is spreading again displays footage from Mariam Salah’s film that shows the behind-the-scenes<\/p>\n

Social media users shared a video that they claimed taught Palestinians at the Islamic University of Gaza how to use cosmetic powders and chemicals to portray themselves as injured and victims of Israeli occupation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Palestinian Observatory \u201cTahaqaq\u201d investigated the validity of the allegations attached to the video, and found that it was used in a misleading context, as the video goes back to the scenes of filming a movie that includes optical illusions produced by the Palestinian visual artist Maryam Salah. These scenes were published in March 2017 as part of a report by the \u201cTRT World\u201d. In which Salah spoke, she embodies through these scenes the injustice, suffering, and dangers to which the people of Gaza are exposed as a result of the repeated wars that the Strip is witnessing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our team also found the same misleading circulation that accompanied the video in 2021 during the Israeli occupation war on the Gaza Strip, and it was monitored by a number of fact checking platforms.<\/span><\/p>\n

Maryam Salah is one of the first girls in the Gaza Strip to emerge in the world of cinematic tricks in Gaza. She began her career in this field in 2013 during her studies at the Faculty of Arts at Al-Aqsa University. Also she appeared on many Arab and foreign satellite channels to talk about her belief in the importance of her talent in conveying Palestinian messages through fine art, cinema, and optical illusions.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s noteworthy that the Israeli occupation continues its war on the Gaza Strip for the eighth day in a row, which has led, as of the moment of preparing this report, to the death toll of 2,215 and 8,714 martyrs, and has caused massive damage to infrastructure, buildings, and basic services, which has turned Gaza today into a \u201cdisaster area\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
