Western accounts supportive of Israel and Israeli accounts, including Israeli activist Eddie Cohen, posted on Facebook and Twitter a video clip showing injured people on the ground, covered in blood. They commented on the video by saying: “From acting performances in the streets of Gaza,” and in another comment, “Palestinian lies and propaganda.”
This is within the framework of a campaign to cast doubt on the suffering of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip as a result of the continuing war there.
The Palestinian Observatory “Tahaqaq” investigated the authenticity of the circulating video and the attached claim, by searching open sources via the digital search tool “Invid” and it turned out that the claim is misleading. The video is old and was used in a misleading context within the campaign to cast doubt on the suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza.
The video documents a medical day and maneuvers at the Faculty of Medicine at the Islamic University of Gaza on March 11, 2018. The page then published still photos of the maneuver that match the scenes in the circulating clip.
The scenes also matched another video clip published by the university on March 18, 2018, confirming that the scenes were documented at the Islamic University – at that time.

Al-Aqsa Radio published, through its account on the “X” application, pictures of the maneuver in March 2018, and explained that the medical maneuver was conducted by the Palestinian Medical Forum at the Faculty of Medicine at the Islamic University, and the Hayat Center for Training in Emergency and Crisis Management / within the activities of the Medical Awareness Day, for training, on managing crises and disasters during wars.
This is also confirmed by the report issued by the “Palestine Online” website on March 12, 2018, which reviews the details of the medical maneuver, pointing out that it simulates the scenes of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, as the participants tried to embody what Gaza has suffered over the past years as a result of previous wars, during an event held at the headquarters of the Islamic University in Gaza.
The report added that the trained team and participants in the event used artificial effects that introduced the observers, who circled the borders of the maneuvering arena inside the university campus, into an atmosphere they experienced during the war on Gaza in the summer of 2014, which lasted 51 days.
In addition, Israeli and other accounts supporting Israel continue to launch a campaign questioning the suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza as a result of the ongoing war there, and accusing them of fabricating their suffering under the names “Pallywood” and “Gazawood,” which the “Tahaqaq” Observatory has previously refuted in previous reports.
